Character History: Cyclonis was born into a long line of evil Emperors, possibly stretching back as far as the history of the Cyclonia Empire. She was raised primarily by her Grandmother after a tragic accident with her Father. She was present for the Dark Ace's betrayal of the original Storm Hawks. Over the years of her youth she developed a deep relationship with the Dark Ace until her Grandmother died. She inherited the throne at the age of 14.
It was when she became Master Cyclonis, a title passed down to all of the Emperors of Cyclonia, that she decided the best way to increase the size of her empire would be through force. She restarted the war between Cyclonia and the Sky Knights that had calmed since the fall of the original Storm Hawks. As the war waged on Cyclonis decided that a quick victory would be best. She was able to turn one of the Sky Knights, named Carver, against the Sky Knights and to her side. She had him try to steal the Aurora stone, the most powerful crystal found to date on Atmos.
Unfortunately he failed at the hands of a Sky Knight claiming to be part of the Storm Hawks. She sent most of her Armada to take the crystal under the leadership of Dark Ace. He was successful in his attempt and brought her what she needed. She had him use the crystal to dispatch the Sky Knight army that was coming toward Cyclonia. Her plan was to use the Aurora stone to power her new machine; the Storm Engine. It would create massive storms that would wipe all of her enemy's terra's clean so she could easily take them over.
It was later the new Storm Hawks infiltrated her Tower. She sent her Talons and her Generals to face them though they all fell one by one. It was her alone when Sky Knight Aerrow and Sky Knight Starling came into her throne room to take the Aurora stone back. She dispatched Starling with ease. She was able to block anything Aerrow threw at her until the Dark Ace arrived and surprise attacked him. Just as her Storm Engine was about to activate Starling and Aerrow sprung into action and destroyed the Aurora stone. The resulting explosion destroyed most of her tower.
She survived and was able to save Dark Ace. The Dark Ace was obviously disappointed that they had failed but Cyclonis seemed to shrug it off. She knew that you win some and lose some but swore the Storm Hawks would pay for foiling her plans.
After her Generals (Raviss and Snipe) along with Dark Ace failed to succeed in several more plans of hers she decided the Storm Hawks merited observation. She devised a plan to get close to them, especially their crystal expert Piper. She used a shielding crystal to change her appearance and took the name Lark. She saved Piper during a storm and the two connected while they waited out the storm. She helped them decipher a Cyclonia map they had found and led them to a mining operation. Due to her acting suspicious Piper unmasked Cyclonis thanks to a blocking crystal she was experimenting with.
Cyclonis admitted she was jealous of Piper with her friends though not directly. She offered Piper a chance to join her and rule the world but she turned her down. Cyclonis then went to her backup plan of trying to destroy Piper. Cyclonis was exposed to be a lonely girl who wanted a friend and then disarmed. The Empress tried to use an Oblivion Crystal on Piper to destroy her but it didn't work as Oblivion Crystals couldn't be used on friends, even if they were only friends for a moment. It was then Cyclonis vanished and told Piper this wasn't over.
The Empress stayed in the background for a long time after. She used her Talons, Generals, and the Dark Ace. As the Storm Hawks continued to win over her forces she grew more and more upset with her Generals. They were idiots in her mind and their continued failures were wearing her patience with them thin.
The next time she encountered the Storm Hawks was thanks to an accident. Snipe made a mistake while helping her assemble a machine and destroyed a wardrobe she kept her crystals in. She was infuriated with him and told him she would fix this herself. She visited a giant named Gunstaff who was a crystal smith she had under her control. She learned the crystal she needed (A Nil crystal that could fix anything) had been taken by the Storm Hawks.
She set out to find one of their allies and get them to talk. She captured another Sky Knight named Lucy-Lu. She used her powers of mind control for force her to get in contact with Piper and found out their location. She sent in her new minions, the Nightcrawlers who were shadow creatures that were more reliable than her Talon soldiers, to find the crystal. They discovered Aerrow had broken every bone in his body and was defenseless.
She launched an all out attack on the Storm Hawks and was able to defeat every member of the team on her own. Once she dispatched them she confronted Aerrow. She took the Nil Crystal from him and thought he was completely hers but it turned out Aerrow was already healed. He was able to disarm her and was poised to attack but the Empress disappeared as it was the crystal she really wanted. She used the Nil Crystal to heal a Hologram crystal that held a picture of her and her Grandmother. She was happy to have the heirloom back, not for its power but for its sentimental value.
Sometime later Cyclonis had been studying old lore from her family's history and discovered a door to the far side of Atmos. She began to formulate a plan to bring the door to Cyclonia. She sent out her minions to find Warp Crystals and made sure they knew secrecy was their ally. If the Storm Hawks didn't know what she was up to she was sure they wouldn't be able to stop her. Ravess, however, let the name of the project slip to the Storm Hawks but luckily Cyclonis didn't find out.
Due to that reason she left Raviss in charge of Cyclonia while she left to retrieve the door with Dark Ace. The Nightcrawlers killed all of the tribal pigmies who lived near the door. She was able to retrieve the door with no interference from the Storm Hawks but when she returned to Cyclonia she discovered a Talon had been in charge after several of Raviss' blunders. She banished Raviss from Cyclonia as punishment.
Her next plan was to completely destroy the Storm Hawks. She had the Raptors destroy their carrier ship but the plan had been to do it when the Storm Hawks were on board. The team survived and so she sent her forces out to hunt them down and kill them. Snipe returned unsuccessful and begged for his life. Cyclonis said she would spare him and banished him to the lava covered and monster infested badlands instead.
With everything almost in place Cyclonis moved to the final step; obtaining the key to the door to the far-side. She returned to a ruined ancient city to see if she could find the key. She summoned the Oracle that once resided there and demanded her to tell her where the key was. Aerrow and Piper interrupted as they had gotten intel there was Cyclonian movement at the ruins. Cyclonis revealed her new power; The Binding, in the fight with the two Storm Hawks members. In the end the battle was a draw but Cyclonis got the key as the ruins began to collapse. Dark Ace wanted to make sure Piper and Aerrow were dead but Cyclonis didn't care. She was sure they had everything they needed. It was that night she used the key and traveled to the far-side of Atmos.
The technology from the far-side was beyond anything she could imagine. She was sure that with her Nightcrawlers outfitted with the superior crystal technology that she could win the war. She sent out several groups of Nightcrawlers to take out strategic places across the Atmos before making a declaration using a massive array of holograms across Atmos. She told the terras to either surrender or they would experience a storm unlike anything they had ever seen.
She sent out her normal army first but refused to allow Dark Ace to leave and join the war front. The Sky Knights overcame her army but Cyclonis wasn't worried. She had wanted the Sky Knights to believe they won and they charged Cyclonia. Unfortunately for them when they arrived Cyclonia was gone. Cyclonis had unlocked the secrets of one of her new crystals and turned the once still terra into a massive flying fortress. She unleashed her massive Nightcrawler army and was able to conquer all of Atmos in about a week.
The Storm Hawks remained a constant thorn in her side and were ruining her plans. Tired after their last scam and destroyed the defense cannons she wanted, she turned to destroying Terra Atmosia to draw them out. It worked and she captured the Storm Hawks. It was then she unveiled her favorite souvenier from the far-side of Atmos; The Crystal Prism. When someone was placed inside of it there was no sleep, no rest, only endless stillness. She had planned to place the Storm Hawks inside as well but that plan was foiled when the Storm Hawks destroyed it.
She engaged Piper and Aerrow with Dark Ace in their final battle. Piper was able to recover from the drain the Binding was putting on her and nearly defeated the two of them. When the Dark Ace demanded she give him more power she used the crystal holding Cyclonia up as a power source. She declared that there was nothing she could not bend to her will. She used the power to pump it into Dark Ace until he crystallized and exploded. She used the distraction to fly off. It was then she learned her army had failed and the Cyclonia was falling to the wasteland. She was going to use the door to escape to the far-side of Atmos and dared the Storm Hawks to come after her if they were so determined to stop her. She went through the door and disappeared.
Character Personality: Cyclonis is your typical evil overlord. She is intelligent, manipulative, cleaver, and devious. She is always thinking of her next plan and has a seemingly endless determination to accomplish her goals. She wishes to see the Cyclonian Empire stretching from one end of the world to the other. She wants to achieve the greatness her ancestors one did before the age of the Sky Knights. She despised the Sky Knights as they are the ones who ruined everything for her and her empire. She holds no love for the people who live within the Empire however. For her it is a matter of proper rule and expansion rather than any sort of morality for the good of the people.
Underneath the calm and cruel demeanor, Cyclonis is actually a paranoid person. Due to her taking to the throne so early and the near defeat of Cyclonia thanks to the original Storm Hawks, she doesn't trust people. The only person she ever seemed to trust completely was Dark Ace and that was thanks to his unconditional loyalty. There also seemed to be an almost true friendship between the two but as the war waged on their relationship deteriorated. His constant failures and power hungry nature wore away their trust to the point that Cyclonis didn't bat an eye when she destroyed him. Due to this she most likely won't trust anyone without a lot of time and patients.
This does conflict with her want for a friend. Piper was right when she told Cyclonis she was nothing but a lonely girl who desperately wanted a friend. She would mock Piper later about their old status as Best Friends Forever but in truth she did enjoy having someone to connect to at that time. She has had very few people she truly cared for and connected with. Her Grandmother was one, Dark Ace was another, and though it was brief she did connect with Piper. She does want friends but due to her distrusting nature it creates problems when it comes to making friends.
Overall Cyclonis is a genius girl with the weight of powerful ancestors on her shoulders and a hole in her heart. Her dreams are to recreate her Empire and to make the Storm Hawks pay for what they had done. She is not one to trust easily and is more likely to pretend to like people in order to get something from them. She has her goals and is patient in trying to achieve them. This is one evil Empress you don't want to be on the bad side of.
Powers and Abilities: Cyclonis is a Crystal Mage and a Master of her craft. She is a genius at not only using crystals but can also create them. She has a deep knowledge of crystals from Atmos and their magical properties. Due to this she is a powerful opponent to face. To deliver a better understanding of her powers I'll do into them in a list for of each one she has used in canon and how she used it. I will also describe which powers she has used with and without a crystal.
Energy Manipulation: Using a crystal she is able to manipulate energy. She was able to negate a crystal blast from another weapon. She is also able to manipulate the crystals themselves. She was able to turn a normal energy crystal into a freezing crystal just by concentrating.
Levitation/Flight: Levitation is a power Cyclonis can seemingly do without a crystal. She can lift herself up off the ground and float for a short time and distance. With the assistance of her Crystal Staff she can actively fly through the air and stay in the air for quite a while. She doesn't seem to tire from doing either of these things either.
Telekinesis: Cyclonis can move things with her mind without the help of a crystal. She can lift up to a single person and pull them around but not with a lot of force. With a use of the crystal she can lift large metal beams, multiple people, and even hold people down and fling them around with great force.
Force Field Projection: Cyclonis must have a crystal to do this but she is able to generate energy force fields with crystals.
Ice Manipulation: Like I stated before, Cyclonis was able to turn a normal crystal into an ice crystal. She is able to blast things with ice energy and freeze things and people.
Invisibility Bestowal: With the use of an invisibility crystal Cyclonis has the ability to make herself invisible and also make other people invisible.
Mind Control: Cyclonis can use a crystal to force her will on others and get them to do her bidding. In truth she has to be stronger than her opponent mentally (And mun approval will be needed). It also doesn't seem to be able to last much longer than the initial command she gives.
Object Morphing/Density Control: Cyclonis is shown, with the help of a crystal, to change and morph objects. She is seen turning a small cabinet into a anvil to stop someone from hitting her with it.
Summoning: Should Cyclonis know what she wants to summon, a crystal, and have something that ties her to the being, she can summon people and spirits to her.
Mental Projection: Cyclonis has the ability to project an image of herself into the mind of another. When this happens the person falls into a trance and appears in the surroundings Cyclonis makes for their conversation. This can be intrusive and can be fought off but if the person as a weak mind, they can't stop it. (Mun permission needed.)
Hologram Projection: Cyclonis can project hologram images of smaller things without a crystal. In order to project a hologram over a large distance or in multiple places she needs a crystal to do so.
The Binding: The Binding is a power where a Crystal Mage can imbue a person with special powers. This can take power from Cyclonis and she will need to rest after using it. She does not need a crystal to do this and can do it while casting other things with a crystal. Below is a list of the binding powers and what they do. They also only last for about a minute or so.
Feather's Flight: Grants the ability to fly.
Titan's Might: Grants Superhuman Strength.
Speed of Light: Grants Superhuman speed.
Fire's Fight: Grants the user the ability to launch fire energy.
Falcon's Flight: Like Feather's Flight but allows them to fly faster.
Storm's Fury: Grants the ability to generate a shock-wave of electric energy.
Diamond's Edge: The user's hands become a highly durable crystal blade.
Lightning Strike: The user can send out a concentrated blast of electric energy.
Inferno's Blaze: Gives the user the ability to use pyrokinesis.

With a use of the crystal she can lift large metal beams, multiple people, and even hold people down and fling them around with great force.
Force Field Projection: Cyclonis must have a crystal to do this but she is able to generate energy force fields with crystals.
Ice Manipulation: Like I stated before, Cyclonis was able to turn a normal crystal into an ice crystal. She is able to blast things with ice energy and freeze things and people.
Invisibility Bestowal: With the use of an invisibility crystal Cyclonis has the ability to make herself invisible and also make other people invisible.
Mind Control: Cyclonis can use a crystal to force her will on others and get them to do her bidding. In truth she has to be stronger than her opponent mentally (And mun approval will be needed). It also doesn't seem to be able to last much longer than the initial command she gives.
Object Morphing/Density Control: Cyclonis is shown, with the help of a crystal, to change and morph objects. She is seen turning a small cabinet into a anvil to stop someone from hitting her with it.
Summoning: Should Cyclonis know what she wants to summon, a crystal, and have something that ties her to the being, she can summon people and spirits to her.
Mental Projection: Cyclonis has the ability to project an image of herself into the mind of another. When this happens the person falls into a trance and appears in the surroundings Cyclonis makes for their conversation. This can be intrusive and can be fought off but if the person as a weak mind, they can't stop it. (Mun permission needed.)
Hologram Projection: Cyclonis can project hologram images of smaller things without a crystal. In order to project a hologram over a large distance or in multiple places she needs a crystal to do so.
The Binding: The Binding is a power where a Crystal Mage can imbue a person with special powers. This can take power from Cyclonis and she will need to rest after using it. She does not need a crystal to do this and can do it while casting other things with a crystal. Below is a list of the binding powers and what they do. They also only last for about a minute or so.
Feather's Flight: Grants the ability to fly.
Titan's Might: Grants Superhuman Strength.
Speed of Light: Grants Superhuman speed.
Fire's Fight: Grants the user the ability to launch fire energy.
Falcon's Flight: Like Feather's Flight but allows them to fly faster.
Storm's Fury: Grants the ability to generate a shock-wave of electric energy.
Diamond's Edge: The user's hands become a highly durable crystal blade.
Lightning Strike: The user can send out a concentrated blast of electric energy.
Inferno's Blaze: Gives the user the ability to use pyrokinesis.
